Long Exposures

Final Shot For The Project Long Exposures

Long exposure or also known as time exposure is basically just using a slow shutter speed to capture non moving objects and to also catch fast moving objects while blurring the objects.  To get the an image like the one above you want to make sure you think of a place that has fast moving objects and doesn't have any distracting stationary objects. Once you find your location you set up your tripod, you're going to want a tripod because with a slow shutter speed your going to need to hold the camera in place and with a tripod you insure that your image stays the same. After you set up your tripod your going to adjust your settings according and its as simple as that. once you get your image editing is really simple you just o your basic edits and adjust the colors to your liking.

Pop Art

My final image for the Pop Art Project.

Honestly so far this year , Pop Art has been the most difficult project. Taking the pictures is easy but once you get to editing it is really a lot of steps. With this project you first want to get the images of your subject. You want to use a tripod for this so you make sure that every shot is the same, also remember you want to make sure your settings stay the same. Once you get your images of your subject you go into photo shop, you do your basic edits first. then you want to cut out your image so you just have the subjects face and upper body cut out. After this step your going to want to cut out the photo so it resembles Pop Art. Still not done!!! After this step your going to drag your image to a new canvas and you do this for every image. Once all your images are on the new canvas you go in and change the color of each image. Its a really long process but once it is done it looks really cool.

HDR

An example of HDR.

This photo is an example of HDR. HDR stands for High Dynamic Range , HDR is basically just taking multiple images and putting them together so you can get a perfect exposure. A lot of times when you are trying to take pictures of a large landscape you can not get everything in the image in focus. HDR makes it possible for everything to look in focus and it really adds detail. To get an image lie this you want to take multiple images of the same background , but each time you want to change the exposure. You want an even exposure , you want one that is over exposed and one that is under. In photo shop you put all this images together and you get your HDR image.

Panoramic

My final Panoramic image taken at Lake Hodges

This type of photo is called a Panoramic. A panoramic is basically taking multiple images of one lanscape and putting them all together to get one large image you wouldn't usually be able to get. To get this image I took several shots slowly moving each time. Each time you take a shot you want to remember to keep each shot in focus and make sure the settings stay the same for each photo. The next step would be editing , in photo shop you just merge the photos together, flatten image and then crop out the image. Its a pretty simple process. The hardest part of this project for me was finding a good location. I thought maybe the beach , but I ended up going to Lake Hodges, it was a clear beautiful day it was perfect for shooting.

Double Exposure

My final photo for the Double Exposer project in Photo 2.

Well to get this photo the first thing I had to do was get a close up shot on my face, include shoulders as well. So I had Kristen take the photo for me. When getting this photo you need a blank background , it’s easier to work with once you get into Photoshop. After you do this you want to find a large image. It needs to be large or your image isn’t going to align with the photo of yourself. This part gets tricky. Once you have chosen both images you , copy and paste the picture on the image of the background whatever you choose. From there you want to select the part around your face make sure you get clean lines doing this. After that step , you will want to erase everything that is not selected. It sounds like a lot of steps but it really isn’t that difficult. Honestly for me the hardest part was trying to find an image that would fit the image of myself.

Multiplicity

My final photo for the multiplicity project in Photo 2.

For our first assignment this year Ms. Young had us shoot multiplicity. To get a photo like this we had to take multiple photos of the same subject. The subject had to change in some way in every shoot the only thing that would stay the same was the background. You want the backgrounds to be as similar as possible to make it less work in photoshop. Once you get your images you go into photoshop , and for me this is when it became difficult. First i loaded all the photos in to stacks, and after that i had to go and erase parts of the different layers so i would end up with this one image. The whole editing part was super difficult for me.

About Me

This Is Me.

My name is Kasea , I am currently a sophomore at Orange Glen High School. Born and raised in Escondido , California. My life pretty much consists of going to school and keeping up with school work. I work really hard to keep a high grade point average and that takes a lot of hard work so I do not have time for much time for anything else. I am involved in cheer this year , which is also a big part of my life , between school, homework , practices and games i hardly get a chance to catch my breath. If I get lucky and actually have sometime to myself I usually just spend it with my friends and family. Just going to the beach, going to the movies , going shopping just simple things. It isn't much but that's basically my life.

Recently though I have been getting involved in photography ,now  I'm not going to lie to you , photography isn't my passion, however i really enjoy it , but i don't see myself perusing a photography career. I just found it to be amazing that photography isn't just about picking up a camera and taking a picture. There is actually alot more behind it and that is what drew me to getting involved in photography.
